Representing some of the industry’s leading players, more Stone Federation members are attending the Natural Stone Show at ExCeL London 25-27 April, than ever before.
British & Irish stone producers include The Lovell Stone Group, operators of five quarries throughout the South West including Hartham Park Bath Stone, Somerset Lias, Chicksgrove & Purbeck; The Bath Stone Group who produce, process and install premium Bath stone; Albion Stone the world’s leading supplier of Portland stone; Doulting Stone as notably used in the construction of Wells Cathedral; Caithness flagstone, a unique material only found in the far north of Scotland; The Johnston Quarry Group representing the Hard White limestones of Creeton, Cotswold Cream and Guilting Gold block from Oathill and the rustic brown Ironstone of Great Tew; McMonagle Stone presenting the versatile ‘walling stone’ Donegal Quartzite and the award-winning sandstones from their Mountcharles quarries; and the Gallagher Group the last remaining company still actively quarrying Kentish Ragstone.
Other members selling stone at the show are The Ethical Stone Company who source materials throughout Europe and pledge ‘innovative stone solutions that avoid activities which do harm to people or the environment’; and CED experts in natural stone paving for public and private places.
Specialist knowledge from the industry’s most respected consultancies will be available from Sandberg, Harrison Goldman and Stewart Design. Whether it’s a design service for cantilevered stone staircases; general guidance on the selection and use of stone; expertise on the implementation of European standards and ISO9001 compliant management systems or UKAS accredited laboratory testing, help is at hand.
A comprehensive range of fix, seal and cleaning consumables will also be showcased. Lithofin, GeoCel (Sherwin-Williams) and Dry Treat will present increasingly eco-friendly products for cleaning, protecting and maintaining stone; Ardex will exhibit a range of tile adhesives and grouts which benefit from their Rapidry Formula Technology; Tremco Illbruck will promote high-performance sealing and bonding solutions for the stone industry; and Jupiter Heating Sytems will demonstrate their dry installed and environmentally friendly underfloor heating systems.
